Video games have a bad reputation in the mainstream media. They are blamed for encouraging social isolation, promoting violence, and creating tensions between parents and children. Sinem Siyahhan from California State University San Maros will discuss the motivation for writing her book, Families at Play, and will offer key takeaways from her research with families and video games. She will highlight stereotypes and misconceptions around video games, and how video games connect generations.
