Railfans of All Ages

For over a century toy trains prepared children to live and work in an increasingly industrial world. Join historian Mike Thornton from the New York Historical Society as we explore a century of toy train history, competition, and craft through the New York Historical Society’s encyclopedic Jerni Collection. Containing over 9,000 individual live steam, clockwork, and electric trains and accessories, this international collection captures a century-old obsession with the grandeur and glory of rail travel and commerce.
