Detroit was farming and cooking and throwing parties one hundred years before the rest of the Midwest United States. French Detroiters fished the river, harvested frog legs, grew grapes, cultivated apples, hunted muskrats, held children’s birthday parties, threw wedding feasts, and danced at dinner parties.  This is a look at Detroit’s past love of all things food.
