Hamtramck, MI, went from being a small farming village to an industrial powerhouse in the space of 10 years. The evolution was fueled by an incredible influx of immigrants whose lives were overturned by the changes. This program explores in great detail what life was like for them at various key points of history from the late 19th to mid-20th centuries.

About the Presenter: Greg Kowalski is executive director of the Hamtramck Historical Museum. He is a retired journalist with more than 40 years' experience writing for and editing newspapers and magazines. He has written 13 local history books including "Hamtramck: Through the Years" and is a regular featured presenter for the MORE program.
