Waste Management Event—Tour of Pine Tree Acres

Ever wanted to know what happens to the things you throw away or put in your recycle bin? Waste Management (WM), North America’s leading provider of integrated environmental solutions, invites attendees to embark on a bus tour of Pine Tree Acres, a modern landfill operation in Macomb County. During this tour, you will gain perspective on the entire process, beginning with the collection of waste and concluding with how WM harnesses landfill gas into renewable energy, as well as how materials are repurposed. Pine Tree Acres is also a Wildlife Habitat Council certified site. Join WM for a tour, while learning more about WM’s sustainability ambitions and how they support the local community.
Important Information: This event is limited to 50 participants. WM is providing bus transportation for this event.
Location: Meet at the Lorenzo Cultural Center (LCC) at 9:45am with the bus departing promptly at 10am. We will board the bus at the conclusion of our tour and return to the LCC at approximately 12pm.
