Opening in 1921, the Detroit Public Library on Woodward Avenue is an architectural gem. In this course we will learn about the architect and noted artisans who together created this impressive and important space, including such luminaries as Cass Gilbert, Gary Melchers and Mary Chase Perry Straton. We will also look at other projects these artists created during their impressive careers.
