  • About the presentation

In response to the seemingly intractable economic challenges of the Depression, the Roosevelt administration initiated a number of so-called “letter agencies” to help provide employment and general economic recovery. Among these, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) is likely the most well known, famous for undertaking a myriad of local projects across the U.S. This class will highlight the history of the WPA as it impacted the economic welfare and social experience of Michigan citizens.
