    About the presentation

    Note: This event will be conducted in the cultural center area of Detroit. Attendees should plan to meet at the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden at the College of Creative Studies near the DIA parking lot by 1:45 pm. Wear comfortable shoes – the tour lasts approximately two hours.

     An extension of the Yamasaki class scheduled in April, this event brings to physical life the work of the famed architect. The tour – illuminated by very knowledgeable commentary – will look at some of Yamasaki's most iconic works in Detroit, such as the Wayne State College of Education building.

    “About the Presenter: Kathleen Marcaccio holds a B.A. in English and Anthropology and an M.S. in Library Science, both from WSU. Now retired, she worked for nearly 39 years in editorial and data analyst roles supporting their electronic information products. She is an expert on the classic film Gone with the Wind, has an outstanding background in Detroit history, and has studied the work of Minoru Yamasaki extensively. ”
