    About the presentation

    This popular class takes a (sometimes) nostalgic trip back to the 1970s in reviewing the most influential electronic inventions of that decade, leading to their amazing forms today. Some provided fun while others allowed citizens to create, record, share, and communicate with each other in new and powerful ways. Their impact far exceeds anything one could ever have imagined then, and today, all of these inventions can be contained in a single device that fits in the palm of your hand.

    “About the Presenter: Dr. Gossman holds a Ph.D. in Psychology buttressed with an education in Computer Science, and has worked across the spectrum of computing and other digital technologies. He currently serves as Deputy CIO at Wayne State University focusing on high performance research computing and wireless technologies. Dr. Gossman is also Executive Director of the Community Telecommunications Network, a non-profit education organization working to improve lives in Southeast Michigan through technology. ”
