    About the presentation

Bob’s segment of this class is a lighthearted introduction to astronomy as a hobby. We will cover topics such as size, what stars, planets, moons, meteors, and galaxies are made of, and where they fit into the Summer sky. We will talk about distances in space, how fast, and the search for life beyond earth. Bring your questions for us to answer.

Angelo’s presentation will cover the latest discoveries in astronomy over the past 25 years. Included will be new discoveries in our own solar system as well as planets around other stars. The uplifting discovery of the building blocks of life elsewhere in the universe will also be covered.

“About the Presenters: Bob Berta’s focus on astronomy is twofold: 1) public outreach (he is an official NASA representative); and 2) viewing and taking astral photography. His professional-level astral photographs are spectacular. Bob’s background in engineering is a perfect match for his interests and capabilities. Angelo DiDonato is a lifelong amateur astronomer and retired test and development engineer. His particular interest lies in the origin and evolution of our universe from the Big Bang to the present time and sharing that knowledge with the general public in a classroom setting. His boundless intellectual curiosity is infectious. ”
