    Humans live within an interdependent web of life. There are many things that we can do to help better understand the role we play in supporting all species of the planet to go through successful seasonal changes. What are some of the ways the Detroit Zoo and others are supporting that effort and—most importantly—what are some of the ways individuals can help? Frog watches are important because the health of amphibians is a very strong barometer of environmental quality.

    “About the Presenter: Michael (Mike) Reed, sometimes known as the “Spiderman,” has worked for the Detroit Zoo for over 30 years. He is also on the Advisory Board of the School of Forestry and Environmental Science at Michigan Tech University, as well as a former president for the Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education. He has led hundreds on their first camping experience. He currently chairs the Wayne County Leadership Council for Michigan State Extension and serves on the advisory board for Michigan Sea Grant.”
