We will be closed this weekend in observance of the holiday and will resume regular exhibit hours on Tuesday, September 8, from 10am to 4pm.
Be sure to visit 9/11: When the World Stopped Turning during its final week on display. The exhibition closes on September 12, so don't miss your last chance to experience this powerful and moving tribute.

The 2026 program is capped with a fresh new fall session featuring a record number of classes that are either all new (61%) or revised (33%). As always, eleven topic genres are represented, ranging across the content spectrum from local history to literature. Among the selections offered are two events in Detroit: a visit to the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum and the annual bus trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts. The program begins Monday, October 5 and runs through Friday, November 20.
